The coolest thread yet.

I was born there (1975) and lived there for the first five years of my life. I have vague memories of it and its a shame my parents moved.

BTW, I love how it looks like there is a beach across the street from the WTC.

Musicians United for Safe Energy present an Anti-Nuclear Power rally and concert on the Battery Park City landfill opposite the World Trade Center twin towers. The Vista Hotel was still under construction.NYC 9/23/1979

Amazing stuff I have lived on North Moore St beween Hudson and Varick for nearly 40 years and it is a trip and treat to see all these images. Thanks for the memory voyage

Damn, wish I had been able to see the "beach" next to the WTC. When I got here in '82 they were already constructing the World Financial Center.

Nice couple of pics of the meat packing district too. That has certainly changed recently. It is probably some hyper trendy clothing store or restaurant there now.
