Good idea to start a thread on Bahawalpur. I recently met someone from that city but realized I knew very little about it. But doing a Google search turns up a huge number of beautiful images. It's a very interesting city with a "nawabi" background.

The people of Bahawalpur are rather interesting as well. Most claim their origins from Baghdad and other parts of Iraq.

Very nice pictures and good to see Bahawalpur on these pages, yes people are looking very interesting and colorful. Saraiki Belt has very unique and rich culture. GREAT......

Dubiously named Dubai Mahal

Its named Dubai Mahal because one of the wives of Nawab of Bahawalpur was from Dubai. Infact almost all the Mahals of Abbasi family in Bahawalpur are in one way or the other related to any of his wives.
