This week, we got reports that they are doing some drilling on site. This one was approved back in May with an expected groundbreaking in early 2018.

I figured it was time to give it its own thread.

Yup! Core samples were taken on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. I'm eager to get this tower underway!

The floor to ceiling ratio looks to be about 9.5 feet which may equate to somewhere around 235-240 ft given that the first floor seems to be the tallest.

I'm super excited to see this bad boy go up! This going up simultaneously with Liberty Harbor East and 1 Light is going to be awesome

Now if only the BCCC Redevelopment can be approved along with 414 Light Street Phase II ;)

Great location, ok design. I don't particularly like how wide it is. I also wish we could have some varying heights of buildings in that area. Everything on the eastern edge of downtown and into Harbor East area is between 20-26 floors it seems. It just looks like an uninteresting wall of shorter buildings. Legg Mason/Four Seasons and Exelon in particular are all the same shape and size and could have really benefited from a little extra height.

I agree with you 100%. Imagine if the 4 seasons was 494 feet like originally planned. On a positive note,I would’ve never imagined a building with 24 floors being built there. It far exceeded my expectations height wise, especially for something at that location. They could’ve easily just converted that space into retail. I would’ve imagined maybe another restaurant or a large convenience store or something. At least they’re going to demolish the site and make something much bigger. I just hope it looks much better in person than it does in the renders because I’m not a total fan of the facade.

All good points..wish the front of the building was shorter than the back...looks like a wall or barrier to the harbor..should have a been a step back..

looks fine. The sooner we can get a shovel in the ground, the better!!

Great find. I really like this building, the Architect has done some great innovative work. This building is a wonderful architectural addition to the IH and HE scene.

Great info! I’m just worried about my morning commute to work becoming a horrific nightmare with all of the traffic that building is going to add to already congested Aliceanna and President Streets :-(
I love the retail and street presence. This will be a big win for Baltimore!

I'm excited to see that the possible lighting scheme was included. I hope they go big with this one! Lots of the smaller LED strips on the brick facade would look so cool!

The building is definitely up there with 414 Light Street in terms of quality
Great renderings. I love this building as well. Construction on AvalonBay's other project - Towson Circle East - is now in full swing, so hopefully, they move along to this one quickly.

I went by there this morning and did see some workers milling about, but I don't want to start any excitement prematurely. From what I can tell, there hasn't even been a demolition permit issued for the Della Notte building.
