Just spotted this in this weeks Wharf - it looks like it's just money now holding this one up:

DEVELOPER'S BIG PLANS FOR LONDON ARENA
http://icthewharf.icnetwork.co.uk/t...r-s-big-plans-for-london-arena-name_page.html

A HOUSING complex complete with shops, offices and a hotel could be built on the site of the London Arena.

Property developer Ballymore has approached Davy Stockbrokers' private clients for £45million to fund the Crossharbour development.

It is due to get under way this autumn and to be completed well in advance of the 2012 Olympics. Davy's clients will be offered a return of 15 per cent per annum over five years if they back the project.

Their money will fund the gap between the amount Ballymore is putting down as equity and borrowings agreed with the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The development will feature eight towers ranging from 43 storeys to seven storeys, a community centre, fitness club and 527 car parking spaces.

Ballymore is also involved in housing developments at Arrowhead Quay, New Providence Wharf, Peninsula Reach and Wood Wharf.

Arrowhead Quay is now a housing development? Or just sloppy research from The Wharf again?

arrowhead has consent for 2 schemes- resi & offices- I still reckon Ballymore should go back to the drawing board & make arrowhead bigger as bigger schemes have been approved since this got planning.
Well Arrowhead Quay has been sitting around for ages. There is even a pic up of the office tower on hoardings at the site (whcih remains a car park) Also, Arrowhead quay is an area, not just a tower, so it could be something else?
Arrowhead quays the name of there(ballymores) development on marsh wall overlooking the docks- Your right it has been a car park for about 5-6 yrs with the old office pic there for years as well so I doubt it would be something else.
Thats the one..Marsh Wall
With Ballymore announcing they will develop this in the Autumn it might stimulate the 22 marsh wall developers to start asap, as at the moment they only have 1 Pan-P tower to compete for buyers but if Crossharbour starts as well that will double the amount of competition so the quicker they get out there & market the Marsh wall towers the less chance Ballymore will nick more potential buyers.

Using the same arguement i'm hoping the Vauxhall twins get PP asasp, as we know St George are marketing/building the tower by autumn. If the Vauxhall twins get marketed first they may steal buyers from the vauxhall tower & hopefully see both tower schemes start together :)
I reckon Lambeth will refuse planning for the Vauxhall Twins, they are such a shit council.

Both towers are u/c at Pan-Peninsula. Interesting to learn they will start marketing the Crossharbour scheme next Autumn. The housing market is indeed gathering steam, with another strong rise in house prices in March and 6% increase on a year earlier. It is the perfect timing for residential developers to start marketing and construction. In addition, Canary Wharf is liekly to perform better because of its proximity to the site for the Olympics and all its world-class facilities. There are also plans to create at the O2 a super-casino, a 3,000-seater indoor arena, cinemas, restaurants, an ice rink, music club and 1,800-seat Las Vegas-style theatre. That makes the residential developments at CW very attractive and Ballymore wants to cash in.

Reg. 22 Marsh Wall, and as far as I understand, the planning permission was granted to a property fund I have never heard about - not a developper.

Yes, the whole of Greenwich Peninsula will be transformed in the next decade:-

The £5 billion development will include a 26,000-capacity arena - the largest indoor arena in Europe - as well as thousands of new homes, leisure, retail, and office developments.

- Some 3.6 million sq ft of commercial development is envisaged around the tube and bus stations and the west side of the Dome.

- Sustainability and renewability have been considered throughout the entire development, including the use of solar and wind power.

- The development is expected to take 20 years to complete and will provide 24,000 jobs for the area."

Plus of course, we'll have Wood Wharf between this and CW!

Really? You mean the two are being constructed together?

I hope so, I am not so fond of tall buildings standing on their own....the second tower is 37 storeys I think.

yes, for delivery in 2009.
yes I concur, they have been pile driving all both ends of the site.

Thats positive news surley??? would they do the prep work without plans to go ahead or would this make the site easier to sell to another developer?
I think he's got confused the discussions on PP and Crossharbour occuring on this thread.
Yes sorry the pile driving is regarding PP not crossharbour.
I actually really like the Crossharbour tower, It's pretty tall too.
