बरेली एयर टर्मिनल निर्माण का काम 95 फीसद पूरा हो चुका है। उड्डयन मंत्रालय से शेड्यूल जारी होने के बाद पहली उड़ान दिल्ली के लिए मिलनी है। केंद्रीय मंत्री संतोष गंगवार ने सोमवार को एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी के डायरेक्टर राजीव कुलश्रेष्ठ के साथ टर्मिनल का मुआयना किया।

The aviation ministry had claimed that the first flight from Bareilly terminal would be started in December. Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also tweeted and asked to start flying from 25 domestic airports including Bareilly, Kanpur, Hindon, Agra. The 78 new routes issued by the central government have included the Bareilly-Delhi flight. Two months ago officials from Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, visited the air terminal at Bareilly. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has decided to start inter-state airlines in different states to connect the northeastern states with the air network. Uttar Pradesh includes Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Shravasti, Moradabad, Aligarh including Bareilly.

The Civil Aviation Minister visited Bareilly Airport. Alliance Airlines has agreed and proposed to start the Bareilly-Delhi flight. Civil Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi has issued instructions to start the flight from Bareilly Airport by directing the deployment of state police force and fire personnel in the airports of the selected state in the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). After the meeting in Lucknow, the hope of starting the flight from the ready-made air terminal at Bareilly has been strengthened further. IndiGo is the second major airline after Alliance Air, whose officials have shown interest in connecting Bareilly by air.
