Can you tell us if they were built in a good way? at times i feel some of what we build right now such as some schools will be destroyed after a couple of years to rebuild them again using better designs!there are actually new hospitals in almost every province in Iraq built since 2003.
I've seen the ones in Karbala, Samawa, Diwaniya.
Also hospitals in Baghdad got renovated.
just there are no pictures... (I never took any)
no their build quality is rubbish. as for the design, the limitations of iraqi construction companies (i.e. low number of floors, no modern conveniences, no central air conditioning, no double panel windows, no insulation, terrible plumbing etc...).Can you tell us if they were built in a good way? at times i feel some of what we build right now such as some schools will be destroyed after a couple of years to rebuild them again using better designs!
this one's an exception, it was built with the help of US Aid so i think it would have all the facilities...^^ hmm from the pictures, this one looks like they do have central air conditioning.
i recommend a visit to the "brand new" karbala university campus which is built so extremely cheaply, with such horrendous design, it'll make you puke.^^Maybe because its lack of experience? ..
Do you have pictures of the university campus?i recommend a visit to the "brand new" karbala university campus which is built so extremely cheaply, with such horrendous design, it'll make you puke.
Thing is, what the iraqis do is add "cladding and some columns and arches to the exterior of the building to make it look "ok"... and the horribleness only hits you when you get inside.
see old thread. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1095411Do you have pictures of the university campus?
lol, it needs a renovation despite being brand newIs it still under construction? it doesnt look like much of a university from what i can see...what a shame
