That's an excellent project. and the building looks great ! Thanks for sharing bro :)
This just may be the most useful project to date. Thanks for the pics.
there are actually new hospitals in almost every province in Iraq built since 2003.

I've seen the ones in Karbala, Samawa, Diwaniya.

Also hospitals in Baghdad got renovated.

just there are no pictures... (I never took any)

Can you tell us if they were built in a good way? at times i feel some of what we build right now such as some schools will be destroyed after a couple of years to rebuild them again using better designs!

no their build quality is rubbish. as for the design, the limitations of iraqi construction companies (i.e. low number of floors, no modern conveniences, no central air conditioning, no double panel windows, no insulation, terrible plumbing etc...).

that's the ability of iraqi companies, and they simply don't know any better.
^^ hmm from the pictures, this one looks like they do have central air conditioning.

this one's an exception, it was built with the help of US Aid so i think it would have all the facilities...
^^ I see... I wonder how Iraqi companies can improve their construction capabilities..

It is interesting that this isn't often reported in the press. only a person on the ground like Sheytan can give us a realistic picture of building quality
Yes this hospital looks better than the other locally made ones. Some of the new ones in nassiriya, rumatha are really horrible, in spite of being BRAND NEW!

Iraqi contractors are awful, and the ones giving them contracts are stupid and corrupt.
^^Maybe because its lack of experience? ..

i recommend a visit to the "brand new" karbala university campus which is built so extremely cheaply, with such horrendous design, it'll make you puke.

Thing is, what the iraqis do is add "cladding and some columns and arches to the exterior of the building to make it look "ok"... and the horribleness only hits you when you get inside.
