The view from gastown has changed the least:

Another major change: there also seems to be more smog, despite what all the environmental reports are saying... the photos just aren't nearly as vivid as they used to be, sigh.

So, it is only skylines specifically from 2000 to 2009? There are a lot of Canadian cities that haven't really changed during that short period.

sparky, ur 1999 pic doesn't work =)

Btw, everyone let's try to keep the before/after viewpoints relatively similar for a slightly empirical comparison :) Also, check out globalairphotos.com for year-by-year aerial shots of most canadian cities.

LOL TB, ur not complaining about exclusionary parameters again r u? T.O seems to have the most to gain within this period!

I was referring to the fact you are excluding some Canadian cities, and not referring to Toronto. But I'll admit I rather expected your
Pavlovian response! LOL!

I actually think the changes between 2006 -2010 will be much greater then we've seen in the past little while. Though the sales have slowed down on new units, building starts are at record highs.

Weird, the images won't show.
Andrew, go to that website you referred to, and save the photos to a folder on your computer. Then upload them to Photoshop, or Imageshack, and post the forum code here
and it will work. Always give the url of where you got the photos as a credit!

Pavlovian response! LOL!
Haha, I just wanted to see how you'd react to that. But yeah you're right, I should have made it 1990 or maybe even 1980... the changes will be a lot more interesting and noticeable in many cities. Damn, too late. Or is it? Can a mod change the thread title?
Any 'before/after' shots can be interesting, regardless of what year. Just as long as you can see the change. The greater the time difference, the more interesting it is to me personally. There's a book on the history of my old neighborhood (Dunbar in Vancouver) with many photos, one was of the street I grew up on, taken sometime in the early 1900s. It was fascinating, because where my old home stands used to be a little stream with a farm house a short distance away. The entire area is now full of houses, and there's a private school.

Never too late! I think we will now get some very interesting contrasts.
Note, folks... the time range is now 1989-2009! :)
Blatant boosterism!!! You posted the same saskatoon pic twice and used Dallas for your second regina pic!!! LOL
