This is a game where we ask whether or not a significant event will happen in the Bay area before or after the year 2020. Feel free to add your own.

First question: will Tampa's population will reach the 400k mark Before or after 2020?

After, unless Tampa tries to annex again. Tampa will get there of course, it just won't be by 2020.
Will Pinellas County's population reach 1 million before 2030? Or ever?

After.

Will the Rays leave DT St Petersburg before or after 2020?

^^ Depends on leave -- Announce departure? Absolutely. Actually play opening day in the new stadium? I still lean towards yes, but less certain.
My bet is that by 2020, the Rays will have left the Bay area for one of the following:

*Orlando
*Jax
*Somewhere outside of Florida (probably the NW, like Oregon or Washington)

If St. Pete keeps playing games, I think the Rays will be:

1) Orlando - best case scenario for us fans and the emergence of Orlando as possibly the better market over the Tampa Bay market moving forward?
2) Portland - Looking to attract the A's currently
3) Charlotte - I don't know if they think their market is too saturated, but they continue to rise as a metro.
4) Nashville - AAA team and a desire for the limelight currently.

I think the Rays stay, but St. Pete has proven it cannot support this team. The question is whether Tampa Bay can in a new stadium in Tampa.

If the current growth rate continues, which is about 1.75% a year, the city will break 400k in 2021.

The Rays will announce a move to Tampa before 2020, but won't play here until after that.

Pinellas won't break 1 million before 2020, but they will before 2030.

When will the next Championship be won by a Tampa team, before or after 2020?

Definitely before and it will be the Tampa Bay Lightning (but not this year)...looks for multiple cups for the Bolts in the years ahead!

Will ground have broken on the trump lot before 2020?

Yes. Like all things, if the economy holds up I think that spot is primetime in Tampa especially as the riverwalk is finished in the area.
When will Tampa see its next major hurricane?

The 'Talls' will be coming to Tampa.

Miami is bursting with tall buildings and after this year, Tampa will look ready for it.

Orlando seems like the best choice for the Rays, there they will get the visiting team fans they need to fill any stadium. I doubt they could move to that many cities and survive without that.

I agree with FOR FLORIDA.

When will Tampa see its next major hurricane?
Hopefully not before (cringes for a moment)

I believe so.

Here's my question, will any county in the Tampa Bay area see passage of a transit referendum before 2020?
