What's fun is that the big ferris wheel overlooks HBO's Game of Thrones set (a castle if anyone's interested...)
A nice middle finger from the Beeb - maybe a get back at how their own 'epic' fantasies never quite reached the dizzying heights of lengthy pretentious/porteniousness :lol:
Plenty of leaked pictures incoming in 3....2....1...
In the meantime here's a close up of the stage the day before - it was still open for people in nearby offices to walk round, and that we did. Very impressive to go up so quickly

The view of the set wasn't particularly great from the wheel sadly. And even if it was, in a clever bit of design, the huge toilet area was located next to the wheel in the direction of the set. Meaning if you wanted to get a photo, you had to endure the smell from the urinals that were located at the front of the section, gently wafting up on the breeze. Delightful!

How unfortunate they managed to miss the three weeks of awesome weather and instead will be operating during our normal summer muck! Really like the venue, it feels like you are miles away from the city when attending. Could really do with that proposed bridge across the Lagan though.
Yeah for sure, Ormeau Park is a world class park/venue and if we had the bridge across you could compare it to Hyde Park in London, it's that epic.
The entrance to the Belsonic site is directly opposite where the proposed bridge is meant to go. If the bridge was built you can just imagine 10s of thousands of people flowing out at 11pm over the bridge to hit all the city centre bars and clubs. Instead they'll be getting taxis into the city centre or buggering off home.
