im more curious as to what is happening to the lakeview neigborhood
and not interested in starting a fight,
when i get emotional about a subject i tend to put irrational and
unrelated topics in subject
i was too negative, but i care too much also
but i am not happy with many of the changes that i saw there,
and just would like peoples input on them,
and if anyone knows what is going up where the
belmont army navy surplus used to be and the row buildings across the street from them,

for one belmont doesnt look so good right now,
with giant vacant parcels of land, its looks terrible,
i would just feel better knowing that atleast something nice was planned for it, i also dont like the storefront bank of america at sheffield and belmont
and i dont like the razing of beautiful brick buildings save the facade,
though ofcourse thats better than nothing, and i dont appreciate new monotonous row condos, especially on sheffield,
thats all,
its just one of my dearest and favorite parts of chicago,
and was very sad to see the army navy surplus building gone,

btw sorry steely dan, im not that angry of a person,
:) just upset sometimes with areas becoming too homogeneous and less colorful and exciting than anything

Wow, a rational post?!!? Are you feeling ok today? :)

I have to agree about the "cleaning" up of the city, it has gone to far in some places, not far enough in others.

I understand the CTA has to upgrade, but it is really a shame to lose parts of the neighborhood because of it. Lakeview is one of the places I'm looking at moving, almost entirely because of the feel of the neighborhood.

Does anyone know is there is anything planned for the land once the CTA is done with it's staging?

well its nice to know that its for a good cause,
those platforms are pretty small and old,
and the station looks like it will be pretty cool,

the town hall bar on halsted was a huge surprise,
especially since its such a gay bar area,
and i went to berlins for the first time, its always interesting to hangout at a gay bar every once in awhile :0,
has anyone else been there (town hall i mean)?
that is very old school, great pizza as well for bar pizza,
the band at town hall was okay, but a little repetitive,

and i would like to post them,
where is there a tutorial on here on how to post pictures,
god im so sad that this building is gone,
