"The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem is one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world. The structure is built over the cave that tradition marks as the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth, and thus it is considered sacred by Christians."

Milk Grotto

"This grotto, with a Franciscan chapel built above it, is considered sacred because tradition has it that the Holy Family took refuge here during the Slaughter of the Innocents, before their flight into Egypt. Tradition has it that while Mary was nursing Jesus here, a drop of milk fell to the ground, turning it white."

Beit Sahour (Shepherds Field)

Beit Sahour is reputed to be close to the place where, according to the New Testament, an angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. According to tradition, Helena built a convent at the site, which is today known as the shepherd's cave.

early christian churches were underground so that they could hide from the romans, thats why i was crawling in the caves throughout this site...

Ja sam veoma uzivao promatrajuci tvoje fotografije i zbog cinjenice da sam i sam posjetio maltene sva mijesta iz tvojih reportaza pa si me ti fino podsjetio na divne uspomene koje sam dozivio na tim mijestima.

Sa ovim reportazama si upao u elitni i mali krug pravih putnika na ovome forumu!Congrats!
