RLC earmarks P2.5 B for Fort condo project (St. Regis)

Robinsons Land Corporation is allotting around P2.5 billion to build a "very high-end" residential condominium building on a sprawling 9,118-square meter lot in Fort Bonifacio Global City.

RLC president Frederick Go said after the firm’s stockholders’ meeting yesterday that this is RLC’s fourth property to be acquired in Fort Bonifacio. Total cost for the four lots amount to P6 billion.

The new vacant property located along the Millionaire’s row at the corner of McKinley Drive and Fifth Avenue, is seen as the last remaining premier lot that has superior vantage point of Manila Golf and Manila Polo clubs.

Considered the best available spot and almost a hectare in size, this valuable corner lot property at the mouth of McKinley Drive is just beside the Regent Parkway.

Planned as the "lifestyle gateway" to the Global City, the property is composed of two mega-block lots—the first measuring 5,747 square meters and the second block measuring 3,371 sqm.

Go said RLC intends to fully maximize the value of the property by developing an upscale twin-tower residential project with the intent to bring a different level of lifestyle for its discerning target clientele.

RLC is seen to aggressively increase its presence in the area as it has already acquired and developing three strategically located prime residential properties in the Global City led by its two sold out projects, the 38-storey Fifth Avenue Place and the 43-storey McKinley Park Residences, as well as the recently launched, the Fort Residences.

"The newest acquisition reflects our continued confidence in the Global City, the real estate industry and the Philippine economy as a whole," said Go.

He said the firm is now drawing the overall master plan and aims to launch this new upscale development in the later part of this year with construction to start in two years and expected to be completed three years after that.

The acquisition also signals RLC’s continuous strategic land banking. The firm did not disclose the acquisition value of the new property. (JAL)

I wish this time there'll be a public participation in the selection of design proposals. Hope RLC is reading this suggestion. It'll also be a good marketing scheme for the project. :tyty:

Bevepi, The redevelopment of the old Medical City sounds exciting but may take some time to be realized which is why I am curious to find out if there is a date already planned/set as to when RLC will be launching the super high-end St. Regis in BGC? Just wondering kung matatagalan pa ito. TY.

Robinsons Land to develop old Medical City property in Ortigas
Robinsons Land Corp., the property unit of JG Summit Holdings Inc., said Friday it will turn the one-hectare, old Medical City lot in the Ortigas business district into a high-end, mixed-used development to cater to a wide range of market.

"We are pleased with the recent acquisition – the strategic location is all anchored on our strategy to strengthen our presence in the heart of Ortigas Center and to complement with our very successful Galleria complex nearby," Ferdinand Adriano, RLC High-rise Buildings Division Director for Marketing, said in a statement.

Adjacent to Shangri-La Hotel and mall, the development will comprise a deluxe hotel, office building, residential condominiums and retail outlets.

The residential condos will house one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units designed to address the tastes of residents in the metro, Filipino-Americans and expatriates, among others.

RLC said it is commissioning a foreign master planner to determine the optimal design of the property.

RLC at present has several big ticket properties in Ortigas including Robinsons Galleria, the five-star Crowne Plaza Hotel, Holiday Inn Galleria Manila, Galleria Regency, Robinsons Equitable Tower, Galleria Corporate Center and East of Galleria Residences, which is soon to be built.

The company said it will raise P15 billion to fund its projects over the next two years. Half of the amount will be spent this year.

Earlier, it acquired a 9,118-sqm lot at the corner of McKinley Drive and Fifth Avenue in Fort Bonifacio Global City for the construction of a high-end luxury condominium.

RLC is also engaged in other businesses such as consumer foods, agro-industrial, textile, telecommunications, petrochemicals, air transportation and financial services.
