Good the Kidzania playland project is still pushing thru. Looks like Kidzania project was moved from Entertainment City to BGC. Atleast it's just a change of venue/location at tuloy pa rin ang project.

It's possible , di kaya located ito sa Uptown mall scheduled to open by 2014 din ?
Could be. Well until there's an official announcement... who knows for sure. I doubt this is going to be built from the ground up. Being installed in a commercial establishment that's being built like Uptown or even Aura makes a lot more financial sense to me.

This attraction would compliment the Mind Museum nicely making BGC more kid friendly.

If so perhaps Kidzania may end up being located in either the Uptown Mall or Venetian Mall given the projected 2014 opening date. :)

I found this on the official publication of KidZania called KZ Journal. It seems that ABS-CBN is quietly franchising theme parks. Play Innovations is 66.5 percent owned by ABS-CBN Corp. and a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Theme Parks and Resorts, Inc.

Lopez group earmarks P1-B for theme park
by Lois Calderon | ANC | Posted at 07/30/2013 5:38 PM | Updated as of 07/30/2013 5:38 PM

MANILA -- Mexican company Kidzania is set to open a P1-billion kids' theme park in Manila in November next year, tapping ABS-CBN as its local partner.

Kidzania is a Mexican chain of family entertainment centers where children get to understand the world of grown-ups. Every Kidzania is a replica of a real city with an airport, banks, shops, hospital, TV station, fire-station and restaurants. Children can choose from over 100 careers to roleplay.

The company has 13 parks in 10 countries worldwide, visited by 22 million children so far, a visiting Kidzania official, Andres Fabre said.

It plans to have 25 theme parks in two years, targeting 40 million visitors. Kidzania also has plans of listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

ABS-CBN, together with a Singaporean company, is investing P1 billion to build Kidzania in Bonifacio Global City, which opens in November 2014.

Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas, CEO of Play Innovations, Inc. --- a Lopez company --- said the entrance fee would be "more affordable" than those in Universal Studios and Disneyland.

The park is open to kids aged 4 to 14 years old. Adults should be accompanied by children, but can't play with them inside Kidzania.

KidZania Manila theme park: A nation where kids rule
By Kathlyn dela Cruz | ABS-CBNnews.com | Posted at 07/30/2013 6:44 PM | Updated as of 07/30/2013 8:45 PM

MANILA -- "A nation where kids rule."

This is how KidZania, an interactive family "edutainment" (education entertainment) center, envisions its first facility in the Philippines.

KidZania is a theme park which resembles a real city -- but with establishments only two-thirds their actual size -- where children can have education and entertainment through realistic role-playing of adult jobs.

Children aged 4 to 14 can independently explore over 100 role-playing activities in this kid-sized city, depending on their interests. They can run the city as pilots, police officers, chefs, news anchors, firemen, doctors or bankers, among others.

"In KidZania, we really believe in the power of role-playing," said Play Innovations Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, and "governor" of KidZania Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas during a press conference in Makati City Tuesday.

"Our vision is to really ignite the hearts and minds of children everywhere, empowering them to believe that they can actually contribute, get actively involved in creating a better world," she added.

ABS-CBN to put up P1-billion theme park
by VG Cabuag | Business Mirror | Published on Tuesday, 30 July 2013 | 19:23

A UNIT of Lopez-owned ABS-CBN Corp. is bringing in Kidzania, Mexico’s fastest-growing theme park for children, in the Philippines and is investing at least P1 billion to build a facility in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Company officials said in a news conference that the theme park is expected start operations in November next year. About 500 people will be employed by this child-sized replica of a real city and will cater to 600,000 visitors annually with a daily foot traffic of 1,500.

Play Innovations Inc., which has bought the franchise to operate the facility in the country, is 73-percent owned by ABS-CBN Theme Parks and Resorts Inc. and the rest of 27 percent is owned by a group of investors, mainly Singaporean nationals, Cecille Marino, Play Innvovation industry partners director, said.

“Unlike with other countries where Kidzania is in a shopping mall, we will have our own facility to operate,” Marino told reporters.

Kidzania is being marketed for kids aged four to 14 years old, offering role-playing games mostly on learning about different careers, the inner-workings of a city and the concept of managing money.
