For anyone who hasn't seen this video, its well worth a watch.

It explores Birmingham at a time where all the stuff we consider a blight on our city was celebrated and hailed as revolutionary and futuristic.

Strange to hear so many good things being said about our city!

Well at the time Birmingham was considered innovative, brave, modern and 'leading the way' so to speak. Obviously in hindsight that opinion has changed, but the Telly Savalas video is celebratory, hence the title. It's kind of ironic.

Sky has been showing the whole Birmingham documentary over Xmas (a number of times) on Sky Arts. I have it recorded on my Sky box.

We got quite a shock while watching it, because in the section on the "over 40s disco dancing" in Cannon Hill park a lady in a light blue dress is shown, and Telly Savalas calls her Mrs Taylor.

Well this is my wifes mother, Norah Taylor, and we had no idea it had been filmed.

In the clip above it is about 3 minutes in.

Unfortunately my wifes mother died 3 years ago so she never got a chance to see it.
