I don't know if it has anything to do with New York's financial business competitiveness. However, once you start slashing property taxes, doesn't that usually translate into less government services...i.e. education, transportation, fire/rescue, environmental, recreation. This is the same Bloomberg that has the vision of 10 million residents for NYC with more infill etc. I don't think thats a good idea....IMHO
