”If the proposal gets the tick from Whitehorse Council, it would be the sixth site in Box Hill to be approved for an apartment building higher than 30 storeys”
Thats great news. Box Hill is ‘chargin’.
Nimbys/locals with more traditional ideas/locals who do not envision skysxrapers in the suburbs are known for making massive amounts of noise and pressure on local governments/media etc, and it is exactly the same whenever that first developer puts out that first forward thinking high density proposal.
And So much so that i woild assume many developers wouldn’t bother/dare to be the first to try as its just not worth the garenteed rejection.
Once that inurgual skyscraper is approved and built though in a more traditional low density suburb, it seems to always create a wave and in no time the suburb will go from zero skyscrpsers to a multitude in no time.
Its good to hear Box Hill like many other melb suburbs are pushing up through the nimbys.
