City: Belo Horizonte
State: Minas Gerais
Place: Quick City Overview

Currently the sixth biggest city of Brazil, Belo Horizonte is the capital of Minas Gerais, who historically had the mining industry as its main activity with the extraction of gold by the portuguese. Nowadays, they have a more diversified economy, forged as a tourist destination with its own personality within Brazil. Serving as the base for the people who visit Ouro Preto through the Rodovías, Belo Horizonte concentrates the tourist sites in the area of the Praça da Liberdade, who is surrounded by huge gorgeous palaces such as the Bank of Brazil, the Memorial Minas Gerails Vale and the MM Gerdau. This city is also one of the biggest examples of the construction of the modern Brazil and the demonstration of the ambition of their leaders of the late 1800s, being one of the first fully-planned cities of the country, similar to the cases of Washington DC in the US or La Plata in Argentina.
