Brazil is mostly tropical and enjoys of a very warm weather but down in the south or in the hills some pretty mild towns can be found and during the winter(may-august) these cities use to have an European charm or just turn into a cozy place where people from the big cities go to rest and enjoy a cup of tea and good food.

These towns are very cozy. Too bad the coldest cities (Urupema, São Joaquim, etc) don't take advantage of their weather.

But Brazilians (those who can pay) still rather go to Bariloche or Santiago for some real snowy winter.

^^ Yes,mostly middle class and upper class go to Bariloche but you'll find many rich people in Campos do jordão eating at the seasonal restuarnts and going to the seasonal malls where it's possible to buy Lacoste,L'occitane,Chili Beans,Timberland,Vivara,Any Any.
Besides shopping and eating the nightlife in the clubs and pubs is hot during the winter.

Exactly! And today, skiing in Bariloche or go to some beach in the northeast is about the same price. Pretty accessible.

You can buy theses useless things in any city. Go on holiday in Campos do Jordão is very cheesy!
