The builders have helpfully numbered the floors. 24 it is. There do appear to be three floors beneath the level labelled 2, so is that all the 26 storeys complete?

The reporter seems to have misunderstood above ordnance datum (AOD). As it’s the height above mean sea level, he has neglected to allow for the fact the land Castle Park View stands on, is about 14m AOD. If you subtract that, it leaves the building’s height at about 84m, around 5m shorter than St Mary Redcliffe.

The second core is now rising. I know its common for the core to be completed well before the floors go up, but, it does look odd.

You're right, it does look mighty odd. I'm in that area nearly every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and if my camera wasn't broken I'd take a photo every day.

Was in the centre for most of today. Arrived by train, turns out off peak return is cheaper than an all day bus... but thats a rant for another day. This area is really densifying and looks quite impressive coming into Temple Meads. But, controversial opinion perhaps, Castle Park View needs to be 2-4 floors taller, to act as a peak in this area. When Assembly completes (and future tower?) as well as Finzels Reach phase 2, the area will be quite flat in height. In saying that, the tower is very prominent along Castle Park and to the east, so really hope the cladding is of a very high finish.

Anyway, first floors are slowly going up.

I wish there was a rooftop bar on the top of the Radisson or Colston Tower. Bambalan is nice and all, but it's essentially at ground level.

Nice to see this under construction, hopefully the cladding will be good quality, and i agree, get rid of the Marriott! How long has this piece of land been vacant?
