And I'll be the first to buy one!!

I'm just waiting for this so I can update my Sydway and Melway as they make good comparisons.

Thanks for the news. It's excellent value at $34.95, $5 less than the Sydway. I'm going to buy one as it will make a great collectors item!!!!

About bloody time. There are so many coverage holes with the online one it isn't bloody funny. I hope the published Brisway has fixed all the errors and updated coverage.

It's a rip off online. Wait til it's available at Big W for $16 like it is in Sydney. :D

LOL - I just bought one.

The Sydways and Melways in Brisbane shops are well over $40 so I am guessing the Brisway will be a similar price.

I doubt it. Ausway would like to see Brisway take as big a slice of the market as it can, and like in Sydney, they've done it through pricing, as most Sydney consumers don't understand or seem willing to believe that Sydway is a superior product.

At Big W iirc, UBD Sydney sells for $25-30, but Sydway is just $16 (I may be wrong, but it's definitely in the teens). $12-15 if its the new edition that's just come out and Big W has put it on special.

The maps look good...

But youd think they could do a better job on the cover.

Not that if affects the quality of the map but if someone see's a UBD and a Brisway, and they dont know theyre probably going to pick up the UBD.

How come refidexs in Sydney and Melbourne are so cheap???

The RRP for UBD Brisbane is $38.95 although most newsagents charge $26.95 while the UBD Sydney is usually $39.95.

Uh, it's not so cheap to get a Melways in Melbourne. I bought mine in a newsagent at QV, but I cant remember for how much. It was something like $40. The UBD is cheaper down in Melbourne cause it's got the lower sales. The Melbourne UBD started ripping off Melway's mapping style some time in the 90s in an effort to boost their sales.

Yeah, I usually get my UBD's at a service station. The one in Spring Hill near Woolies sells them for around $22 - which is the cheapest I have seen them.

First Melways came out in 1966, I think it was made by only two people and very little equipment. In Melbourne, they can probably get sales at any price: there is practically one in every car and people only ever quote Melway map references.

But I think it's time they modernised their cover (and that horrible website).

I prefer the clarity of AusWay products.

Think of reading a rail / train map - you don't see chunky arse double lines representing a rail line do you? so why should you with streets?
UBD are like kiddy-who-can't-colour-between-the-lines maps IMO. :D

(lol @ UBD trying to copy Melway in Melbourne)
