What a green and beautiful city. Lovely shots. Thank you :)

It's so cool, in Tehran we have a street in the Central Tehran that is named Bucharest Avenue and it's a very important and long street too :)

This is the pic of Bucharest Ave. in Tehran, A very crowded place but this shot is taken during a weekend :)

Woow green and looks very organized... I must say Bucharest has great potential and nice empty flat areas for future skyline development. I hope we will start to see "talls"

Wow, I didn't know that and it's really important! But how exactly do you say Bucharest in Iranian, I mean Bucharest is english for Bucuresti! It must date from the time of Ceausescu, I know he had a lot of friends in the islamic states, including Iran! Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is a Tehran or Iran or Khomeini or anything iranian named in Bucharest, I don't know about the rest of the country!

By the way, it's green because the shots are taken from far away! Bucharest has one of the smalest areas of parks and green spaces in Europe, if not the smalest! There are some parts that have more green than others, but generaly we suffer from a shortage of parks and green stuff! In Romania you see, if you have the right relations, you can just build on park areas and take down forrests and destroy vegetation without conceirn for the environmnet!
It's what democracy brought to us, corruption and not giving a damn about the natural surroundings! Most of the forrest area you can see in the pictures are from outside the city!
Not exactly a quote is it? :D:)^^^^^^

Actualy I was also surprised to see how good it looks from the sky. From street level more, a lot more to be done! About the highrise development projects, there are quite a few! I'm sure in just a few years, several highrise buildings will show up! There are some interesting projects!

Esplanada, a project that is delayed by the problems the local authorities of Bucharest had with land owners on the location. It is a mixed investment, between the local authorities and a private investor. The former supply the land, the latter come with the money! Unfortunately, the authorities wanted to buy the land for less than it's worth, so it came to this! The latest rumour says that it should be started and that the problems have been solved! The land lies in the middle of Bucharest, on a 25.000 square meters area and has been deserted since the revolution, in 1989!

This one is called Dambovita Center!

The Euro Tower! They "had" to destroy a small park to buid this one! Under construction!

The Floreasca City Center should be the tallest building in Bucharest, at least for a while! It's also under construction!

Romania definitely has a lot of fertile land and agriculture resources. If it is used well, the country could have an economic boom in near future.

Hey buddy,

Thanks for all the interesting info and I wish the best for Romania.

In Persian we pronounce Bucharest = Bokharest :)

Are those mountains in the background?
Not in the shots above, they are taken with the back against the mountains! But here are some shots of Bucharest in which mountains can be seen, taken from Google Earth. Mountains are at least 100-150 km away, so a really smog free or clear sky day is required!

Hope that satisfies you!

Actualy you see so much green in the pictures because they show sector 1 from Bucharest witch has more green space/cap loc. than medium in Europe.. Other sectors have much less green spaces and that's the problem... But yes in sector 1 there is great potencial for future developement and it's the most expensive terrain in romania ...

The very last ones were not posted by me, but by pescarush! :D
Bucharest is going to be one of the most sought after cities in Eastern Europe...my prediction. I have had an interest in this city since I was a kid. It is great to see photos of a city that has been off the radar for so long.
Romania is undergoing a real estate boom lately and has for the past few years! Bucharest, as it's largest city, attracts most investments! We already have the largest mall in southeastern Europe, who knows what the future holds!?
Lovely aerials. Lakes, parks...Beautiful city indeed. I love Romenia, Most eastern Latin Bastian.
Like I said, the appereances could be deceiving! The city looks ok from high up, but from down low, lots of things to be done!
