Introducing Dante's Enlarged, Glassy Replacement: Cyan On Peachtree

A glassy edifice called "Cyan on Peachtree" will soon take shape on ground once occupied by legendary Atlanta restaurant Dante's Down the Hatch. Construction has started on the 329-unit Cyan, which has changed significantly from earlier renderings. The property will include a 23-story residential tower (aesthetically similar to various Novare offerings) and an adjacent, seven-level parking structure, officials announced this week. Earlier plans indicated the tower would rise about 10 stories, with a smaller parking piece. In any case, the project will occupy a prominent slice of Peachtree Road where the pricey fondue institution operated until last year, replete with a live crocodile.

According to a press release, construction began this month, and Cyan could welcome its first residents as early as the second quarter of next year, when competition for renters could be fiercer. The slightly taller SkyHouse Buckhead by Novare is expected to open around the corner in the first quarter of next year.

23-story apartment project underway at former Dante’s site

Construction has begun on a 23-story, 329-unit multi-family tower named Cyan on Peachtree at 3380 Peachtree Road, the site where Dante’s Down the Hatch restaurant sat for more than four decades until it was sold last year.

Located across Peachtree Road from Lenox Square mall and one block from the Buckhead MARTA station, Cyan on Peachtree is being developed by an affiliate of Atlanta-based Atlantic Realty Partners and Birmingham, Alabama-based Brasfield & Gorrie is the project’s general contractor.

The project has doubled in size since it was first presented last year before the Development Review Committee of SPI-12 (Special Public Interest district).

Cyan on Peachtree, the big blue building that replaced Dante's Down the Hatch, is nearing completion. After topping out late last year, interior work is progressing and the first tenants should start occupying the lowest levels in early May. Those who opt to move in first will contend with a construction zone as the upper floors are completed, with the highest units not available until August or September, officials say

Buckhead's Newest Tower is Loaded with $5K+ Apartments

On the Buckhead land where jazz once played, crocodiles frolicked and fondue flowed, the glassy Cyan on Peachtree stands like a 23-story beacon for high-earning millennials. Floor plans and pricing for Cyan's 329 luxury units recently emerged, showing a staggering number of units in the range of $5,000 per month. The building offers eight varieties of penthouses alone, with the most expensive starting at $5,050 and ending who-knows-where, which brings to mind the priciest units at, um, Avalon. The tower fills a gap on Peachtree Road between Mandarin Oriental and the Atlanta Business Chronicle building. It'll offer the top-shelf finishes and amenities one would expect: a concierge, quartz countertops, "exquisite plumbing fixtures," private common patios with grilling stations, a bark park and the promise that "tranquility comes standard."
