Hmmm-
Main Place Tower almost looks good in those shots....
must have caught the 30 seconds of the day were the lighting is just right.

You know, I'm not proud to admit this but Main Place Tower is one of my favorite buildings in Buffalo, and I definitely like it most out of all the "new" buildings in downtown Buffalo. M&T Tower is better architecturally and HSBC Tower has the height thing sewn up, but I like the proportions of MPT. Plus, it has aged fairly well, unlike HSBC or the Po-Mo crowd around Fountain Plaza. The one area MPT falls short for me is nighttime lighting.

I actually like it too. Boxy but not too boxy, and plain but not boring, in fact it has an interesting "texture" going on.

But the mall portion - hideous AND unsuccessful. Get rid of it.

that mall is a discrace to Buffalo.

needs to be one big SABRES museum.

The malls is just evil and uninviting, if it was more welcoming...it might work better...perhaps with more of a market idea instead of retail on a suburban level.

plus, no anchor kills the mall.
