I wish i could get more picture of Beni. I love this little city. I admire their resilience against the mighty Butembo city.

Small, but very competitive.

Visitons le sud-kivu.

Bukavu Lycee Wima

Is this building really Lycee Wima? Neither the building (new) nor its immediate neighbourhood resembles that part of Bukavu. I visited the city and the lycee Wima many years ago and I don't remember any road leading to that school being large and paved. And judging by the general degradation of urban infrastructure in the DRC, I would be astonished if the road was transformed in the last two decades - unless my memory is failing me...

From the source of the Image it said Lycee but I always get mixed up between Lycee Wima and Lycee Chirezi since people just call them both Lycee.

About the road, Yes it was paved. It is among the smoothest roads to drive on in Bukavu now, so did a few other roads around Muumba. It was all done prior to JOKA visit.

I am 100% sure this building is the lycee Chirezi, which I did not see during my stay in Bukavu; it must be a new school. It is definitely not the lycee Wima.
Ah Muumba! This neighbourhood was fascinating back in the 70s and the 80s. Is it still as posh as it used to be? It was the Beverly Hills of Bukavu back then.

Back then??

Now it is even more of a Beverly hill than back then. Filled with Expensive Mansions that shelter Politicians and Business men. That is also why it is the area of Bukavu with the best roads. Hummers, Jeeps and Land Rovers patrol the area.

The area now boasts with the Most expensive luxurious Hotel in south Kivu and a world class Supermarket, Bank and ATM machines.

I have made up my mind: my next trip to the DRC will start in Bukavu. It is good to hear that things have improved there. After the ecologically devastating wave of Rwandese refugees in 1994 and the ensuing “liberation wars”, there was little hope that BKV will get back to its feet any time soon. This is good news.
BUTEMBO21!!!!!

DEAR BUTEMBO21, MY MAN! PLS CONTACT ME. I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT BUTEMBO CITY,WHICH I NEED YOUR HELP. THIS IS MY E-MAIL: [email protected] PLS SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. I WILL REPLY YOU. THANKS:)
can we see some photos about the street or main market? not anytime for the building!!!
I have the impression that Bukavu is not expanding in spite of the growing number of population. This is a worrying development because Bukavu’s soil is prone to erosion and I am not sure all the new houses are being built on proper sites. All hillsides are full of houses instead of vegetation to solidify the soil. Hopefully we are not going to witness a series of landslides in the future.
Not just that. The worst is that its the Earthquakes . remember few years ago? They need to redevelop that city. an absolute master master plan for prevent mud slide.
New Building of Hotel La Roche.

Bukavu, always lacks Quality, super gardens and space. But welldone to La Roche.
Where is this hotel located, Nguba, La Botte, Nyawera, Muhumba or Ndendere? In addition to space problem, Bukavu shares another flaw with the rest of the country: unplanned urbanization.

I don't know where its located.

I don't think your able to plan anything in chaos.

La botte is the location, right next to the lake

unplanned urbanization
:eek:hno:

There is now a lot of measure being taken to tackle this but they realised when it was already too late.

That is why there is a rumor in the government of a new master-planned Bukavu CBD and suburbs. A similar project to Luano city. Chosen location is said to be between Bukavu and Kavumu:banana:
