In my childhood, while travelling to Antalya from Ankara for a vacation. I saw the Burdur Lake on the way, and thought we reached Mediterrian, and it is a gulf. Greatly dissapointed and quite surprised when my parents told me we have hundreds of kilometers to Antalya.

This is where I did my military service. It wasn't a bad little town, just a bit boring if you live there full time. The lake is scenic and there are a few nice hotels by it. I remember the surrounding landscape to be quite barren and dusty, although it added a sci-fi movie set feel to it. A good thing about the town is its proximity to Antalya.
