i have to stay in Emirates palace to make a decision.
ok, after those pics, definatly burj, al arab, classic arhitcture like that and esuclators dont mix!

it looks like the internet shat all over a fake antique!

ewwwe!

seriously, definatly the burj, that foyer is a long way from luxuary, if they want VIP guests they should demolish it snd start again before it becomes an embarssment to abu dhabi.
i say emirates palace, its wonderful its a work of art! so is Burj al-Arab but i personaly prefer emirates palace.
not bad, 10 people voted for Emirates Palace. Not everyone on this forum is an ignorant Dubaiain (is that a word?) !

why the hell would it be an embarssment to abu dhabi.........

it might not be as nice as the burj as a design but it's up there with the top 5 hotels..............and has it's own style that compliments abu dhabi
^ i agree , actually the interior is much nicer than Burj al Arab's interior
Both are tacky. Has anyone been in the Burj? The interior nearly blinded me.

i don't agree ... burj al arab's interior is waaaaay better and nicer u even get a higher feeling of luxury in burj al arab .. Emirates palace has a nicely designed exterior but in matters if interior i don't think it can be even compared to BAA maybee to Emirates Towers hotel
Burj Al Arab is an Icon, it is up there with the Eiffel Tower and the Sydney Opera House. EP is simply an expensive, classy hotel.

BAA beats EP even in luxury, the facilites are much better, the restaurants, views, transport, etc.

BAA marked the beginning of Arabian development, it was also the one which set the benchmark for the 7 star rating. It is a legend.

i agree with you totally on that, but i guess this poll wasnt created to stats teh facts, however, it was more of state your opinion,
and my definition of luxury doesnt have to mean, bright colors, gold every where and such ,
however IMO its more about subtle things, simplicity, and the flow of colors and calmness of the colors,
but then again, this is MY OPINION, and everyone is welcome to share their opinion....

Okay, this is my opinion too, I just want to say it, not to disagree with you.:)

I feel that real luxury does not come from decor, but what it really offers. I can tell you that many boutique hotels in Italy are more tastefully decorated than the EP. BAA has duplex apartments, helicopters, Rolls, etc. Such things simply make the gold and bright colours a tacky topping to pure luxury.

I honestly feel that EP is just a more expensive version of Kuala Lumpur's Palace of the Golden Horses

Which is why I voted for BAA.

Btw, what exactly is the poll measuring?
19 BAA and 13 EP
I didn't believe that any hotel could beat BAA, but EP did and with honor.

BAA has two features EP doesn't offer

1. Height

2. Underground Resturant

When I drive by the Corniche I can't stop staring at the palace, it's just amazing!

If you want to compare Burj Al Arab, you would better compare it with the gate of Emirates Palace and not the whole thing ;)

hahaha now that was one funny post :D not 2day not even after 10000000000 years :p
I voted for Emirates Palace, cant explain why really, i just like it more somehow, altough they are very different and i havent seen any of the 2 yet.
i dunno how u would compare a highrise to a lowrise building. theyre of differing typologies.
The Burj Al Arab is already an Icon for Dubai, and the interior is simply stunning. The design is really exceptional.... But I must agree, Emirates Palace is also a class of it's own... :)
