Burj Dubai, the world's tallest tower, is expected to go up to 200 floors, a media report said.
"It has reached floor No 40. It is over 20 per cent of the total habitable floors," Abdullah M Bin Lahej, director of construction for Emaar Properties, developer of the tower, was quoted by Gulf News as saying.
This translates into nearly 200 habitable floors, dwarfing all other man-made structures and nearly double the height of the 442-metre Sears Tower in Chicago, which has the highest habitable floor at the 108th, said the report.
The building's height, which remains a well-kept secret, could go well beyond the estimated 750 m if calculated on the standard height of an average floor, it added.
Bin Lahej said major components of the tower have already been sold out.

theres already 14 threads of burj dubai in construction threads, this article has been posted extensively in the last 2, and prooves absolutely nothing..... the qoute over 20% actually says the burj dubai is at very MOST 200 floors, and almost certainly less

This is very ambitious plan for the tower. Is it really possible to make it 200 floors?
if they wanted to make it 200st, they would have planned it like than from the start, or the foundations would be too weak to support it.

and for the record the article is 100% wrong, if exactly 20% was currently built, then it would rise to 200flrs, if over 20% is built, then it HAS TO BE LESS THAN 200 flrs
