Imagine the city of Bujumbura in 2045:

Projects were initiated in 2014, but due to the crisis they have been temporarily halted. Glad the government want to resume them

The PNUD and Singapore Corporation Entreprise will be the main partners.

Bujumbura will be split into three areas. (North, Center and South).

Burundi is in a state of war

Would like to know more about this country and economic development

It should be as developed as Rwanda or Singapore

The developmental gap between its northern neighbor seems to increase as time goes by.

Maybe Burundi is for the moment the poorest country in East Africa. Nevertheless, its future is beyond all countries in the region because the schooling rate is the highest in the region, the country has just harvested these raw materials, it is the only autonomous African country that does not depend on any help , thanks to a plan put in place by the president challenged by European Pierre Nkurunziza. In the development plan of this president, the Burundian population is the only one able to ensure the future of the country through the so-called community work. Thanks to this plan, the country has built 3 times schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructures between 2005 and 2015, in 10 years the country has made a lot of progress. This is the reason why Mr. Pierre Nkuruziza will never have the praise as his neighbor Paul Kagame who for him evolved Rwanda decided to allow Westerners to looted and killed without any pursuit via the United Nations Democratic Republic of the Congo. This country is the largest in Africa and owns all raw materials, today it is among the poorest because of Uganda and Rwanda which destabilize the east of this country with a multitude of uncontrollable rebel groups.

With natural resources as mentioned by Drillz1! Here is one article in English (another one was read in a magazine published in South Africa, can't remember which one though).

Also, I've heard that Burundi will implement the EA tourist visa (along with Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda) before year 2018 ends, generating more income for this country. Any news on that? It would be awesome :)

Thinking that everything about the state and state employees should have priority.
Maybe Burundi is for the moment the poorest country in East Africa.
That title goes to South Sudan.
South sudan at least has oil, gas, and other resources to look forward too in their future. What does burundi have?

Gold, copper, uranium, tungsten, nickel, tin, peat, platinum, limestone, vanadium, tantalum, niobium, kaolin and cobalt.
Burundi needs a good leadership period, the presidential palace is now the biggest building in the country and this says it all about Nkurunziza.
