Correct, it's the northern part of Gezira Island.

Greetings from Bangladesh to my Egyptian friends.

I am planning to visit Cairo in 2 weeks.Aside from the historic attractions,I would like to see the modern areas of Cairo and eat at some traditional places popular with locals. Please do suggest which neighborhoods show best the modern side of Cairo, and some names of locally popular eateries.:cheers:

I will be staying at the Hilton Rameses,so do let me know if there are some must visit places nearby.
