God, Canberra is so depressingly dull in pictures. And Queanbeyan is even worse.

A good collectio n of shots anyway!
I think in parts it looked nice but a lot of the shots were not of the most exciting urban environs
Was there much to see/do in Queanbeyan? I'm off to Canberra this weekend and was thinking of going out there out of curiosity, last visited about 10 years ago.
^^ queanbeyan has few nices places if you have a car,

googong lakes, the riverside and parkland near the opposite the shopping centre, a few sight seeing just enough for 2 hours of my life

goulburn unless you are going to a farm is also worth 2 hours of my life
I think Canberra is actually quite an interesting city given its history and the 'boring' notion really comes from a presupposed state of mind based on the city's reputation among Australians. It's urban environ is quite flat and unremarkable but you have to marvel at a city that has essentially bloomed in a harsh inland landscape.

Canberra has some nice scenery around the old parliament house, high courts etc and looking across the lake to the war memorial. It's more "historic" suburbs like kingston and manuka aren't bad. Once you get out of the civic and the parliament quarter though...holy hell it gets dull.
^^ I find the centre of Civic is a huge letdown. It's only marginally more interesting to visit than the suburban town centres, but with 5 times more junkies and ferals.

Usually when I go there I just stay around Belconnen apart from when I have specific things to do.

Though I partly agree, I think the collection of photos is a bit biased, 80 percent of it is just road signs, fences, plants, public toilets, buses and brochure stands. With that you can make any city depressing.
No photos of more lively places like Garema Place, Bunda Street, Braddon, Kingston Foreshore or even tourist attractions like the ones around the lake.
It is not that bad.
