to be frank with you guys i am quite disappointed with current proposed design i was wishing for something little bet more fancy :(

Kuwait approves construction of Sabah Al-Ahmad''s int''l financial center

KUWAIT, March 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Municipal Council, chaired by Abdurrahman Al-Humaidan on Monday approved construction of the Sabah Al-Ahmad's financial center in Sharq area endorsing Al-Sha'ab National Company for the construction process.

الشعب التابعة لـ البيت تباشر إنشاء مركز صباح الأحمد المالي

قال نائب رئيس مجلس ادارة شركة الشعب الوطنية العقارية أيمن بودي أمس ان مشروع مركز صباح الاحمد المالي العالمي الذي وافق عليه المجلس البلدي اخيرا يقع في قلب منطقة الاعمال في شرق العاصمة على مساحة ستة آلاف متر مربع.
وذكر بودي في تصريح صحافي أن المشروع عبارة عن برج يتكون من أربعين دورا ويحتوي على قاعة رئيسية لتداول الاسهم والتعاملات المالية والاستثمارية على مدار الساعة وهي مرتبطة بالأسواق الاقليمية والعالمية.
وأوضح أن المشروع يضم مكاتب للوسطاء والشركات المالية والاستثمارية علاوة على مسرح متعدد الأغراض للمؤتمرات والجمعيات العمومية للشركات المختلفة كما تم تخصيص جزء من المكاتب التجارية لاستخدام الجهات الحكومية.
واشار الى تزويد المركز المالي بأحدث وسائل الربط والاتصالات الرقمية وشبكات المعلومات والنظم الامنية لمواكبة وضمان سرية التعاملات المالية والتجارية وحماية الافراد والمؤسسات داخل المركز.
وشركة الشعب الوطنية العقارية احدى الشركات التابعة لشركة بيت الاوراق المالية والمملوكة لها بنسبة %90.​

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Sheab real Ayman Budi yesterday that the draft status Sabah Al-Ahmad Al global financial, approved by the Municipal Council finally located in the heart of business district in the east of the capital, on an area of six thousand square meters.

Budi said in a press statement that the project is a tower consists of forty stories and contains main hall of share trading and financial transactions and investment around the clock is linked to regional and global markets.

He explained that the project includes the offices of brokers and financial firms and investment as well as a multi-purpose theater for conferences and general assemblies of different companies has also been allocated part of the trade offices to use government agencies.

Referring to provide financial position and the latest connectivity and digital communications and information networks and security systems to keep pace and ensure the confidentiality of financial transactions, trade and the protection of individuals and institutions within the center.

so basically the tower will be 40 Floors above ground level on 6000 meter land plot.

this tower will be dwarfed by the neighboring al hamar tower :eek:hno:

^^ im glad actually ... i think al-hamra is a unique landmark, i'd be rather disappointed if any tower nearby dwarfs it or steals it's thunder... can't wait to see the final design though
well not if look at the project from another perspective, can you imagine the view of four super tall towers standing strong in each corner on the traffic junction , despite the fact that might "steals it's thunder" as you say , i believe it will add more density and urbanity fell to sharq area.

i just hate the idea of 412 meter tower standing alone :eek:hno:

hmmm....dont wanna sound out of touch ...but is the building design shown on page one of this thread scrapped or is it a different development?
Bernard Khoury design was one of the first proposed designs ,which is no longer valid

KEO International Consultants has been notified by the U.S. Green Building Council that the 1.2 million sq ft project, Sabah Al Ahmad International Financial Center, has been officially registered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and is now pre-certified to get Kuwait’s first LEED certification.

The client, Securities House for Real Estate Co., and the developer AlShaab Real Estate Co., gave KEO the incentive to pursue a sustainable design using guidelines and tools outlined in the Green Building Rating System in late 2007. In addition to creating an iconic 40 storey tower consisting primarily of high end offices and a hotel, KEO was given the task of achieving a LEED® Gold from the USGBC. As well as meeting or exceeding a series of green requirements, the tower employees a series of wind turbines and PV panels to provide a renewable source of energy.

The design solution translates the client’s brief for various programs into 4 stacked courtyard atriums ranging from 8 floors to 13 floors each. Three of these accommodate office floors while one accommodates a 4-star Business Hotel with 200 rooms. A separate 800 sq m Trading Hall on the ground floor will accommodate 24-hour trading for the facility and there will also be an Antiques Auction Centre. The sculptural shape of the tower induces wind at the top of the building where wind turbines are specially positioned to generate power for the building.

the project is not under construction they are carrying out soil test hopefully the project will go full steam ahead in few months although the mean tender has not been issued yet

ذكر بودي ان الشركة حصلت على كافة التراخيص الخاصة بتنفيذ مشروع مركز صباح الأحمد المالي عبر شركة تابعة لـ »البيت« وسيتم تخصيص أكثر من 700 مكتب علما بأن التكلفة انخفضت بنسبة %30 في عمليات البناء نظرا لرخص أسعار مواد البناء.
