Here is a photo page of random pictures of Cardiff that i have taken and will take.

Cardiff is the Capital city of Wales, one of the 4 countries that make up the UK.

It has an official population of 325,000 but over 1 million people live within 20 minutes of the city. Its a city with a large mix of modern and old, with a very compact city center, and is a very green city with large parks and a wonderful waterside.

The Exchange quarter (named by me!), the historical area that surrounds the coal exchange, where the worlds first million pound cheque was signed.

The 5 star st davids hotel, built when this whole area was run down and the mud flats had only just been covered by the 1 billion pound barrage, which stops the fresh water from the two rivers that flow into the bay escaping.

Being so close to the water I didn't know Cardiff also got its share of snow. Nice to see that.

You live in a very pleasant place. :eek:kay:

The animal wall, the Marquis of Bute (who owned the castle and docks) wanted a zoo, but being declined by the council instead build these sculptures as if they were escaping from one

^^ Yes there were quite alot of Italian imigrants to South Wales to work in the mines as Italy was going through alot of turbulance at the time. Also this building is called the Queens building (not sure if that is significant in any way though)
