What a shameful and idiotic thing to happen to such a locally loved piece of architecture, imagine if the `Royal Liver Buildings` is sold to to `Royal London` and they tried to take down the `Liver Birds`.....Rumour has it that the builders were not informed of the Head's inclusion in the listed status, and smashed it up when it went to the skip. Actually, it wasn't a runour, there was a letter in the Daily Post from somebody that witnessed this.However, EH are probably too preoccupied thinking whether to lunch in Canal Street or St Anne's Square to notice.
