They are currently selling apartments. Got this in the mail:

Believing the unbelievable. After two months of extensive 1-to-1 marketing and showcases for Central Adelaide Apartments, we are proud to announce that 135 apartments are SOLD with total value of $61,017,350

We are glad to announce that we have over-achieved our pre-sale target and the developer is confident that the building work of Central Adelaide Apartment is expected to commence in March 2014 and complete in Sept 2015 on schedule. Thank you for all of your support.

According to the developer, the showroom of Central Adelaide Apartment will be ready by end of the year right opposite the building site. A virtual walk-in display for each unit at your selection will be provided to give you a vivid experience and visualisation of the building finishes and living ambiance.

From today's Advertiser.

THE addition of a $70 million apartment complex to the Adelaide CBD skyline next year is expected to bring more than 400 construction jobs within the next 12 months.

The Central Adelaide Apartments on Grote St — an 18-storey, luxury apartment complex with 260 apartments and New York-style car-stacking facilities — is due to be completed in June 2016.

John Stokes, chief executive of the Master Builders SA said the Australian Securities Exchange announcement by national builder Watpac that it will deliver the project is a timely boost for the beleaguered industry.

“South Australia’s building, construction and property sector has faced a lack of confidence for some time, so this project is extremely welcome,” he said.

“It’s a large-scale project that will create jobs but also contribute to a regeneration of Adelaide, so it’s doubly welcome. It’s also a sign that South Australia’s property sector has the capacity to do big things, and that’s the sort of confidence we need.

“These projects together provide some certainty for the developers and subcontractors and the jobs they are creating beyond 2015.”

They had better get started on this if they are to complete it by 2016.

Can't wait to see this done. The black/grey/red finish will look sleek! And the building will stand out. There's little of this height in the area.

Photos from 29 February 2016. Level 7 is complete. This one is very fat and despite currently still being quite short, it's prominent along Morphett Street (the street in the foreground of the first picture) and also the centre of Victoria Square in the middle of the city.

Eleven floors completed with another 8 to go. This is a good bulky building and will add some size to the skyline from certain vantage points.

For this height, I would love to see more of this design quality in future developments. Sleek, bold and makes a great impact.
