IN PHOTOS: DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, Usec. for Aviation Manuel Antonio Tamayo, Usec. for Finance Garry De Guzman, Asec. for Maritime Andoy Perez, Asec. for Road Mark De Leon, and PPA General Manager Jay Santiago, meet with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Dino to discuss the proposed masterplan for the integrated intermodal transport system, a project that aims to address traffic congestion in Metro Cebu.

The masterplan includes the construction and implementation of an LRT, BRT, P2P bus system, Sky Train, and Water Bus, which shall all converge into a proposed common station.

I hope the meeting today will resolve the issue to implement the BRT. We lost time in political discussion of the matter. The nobility of a public official is measured by his being able to understand and respond to the need of the majority of the people, in this case a decent, comfortable, efficient and effective transportation system.
and also by his ability to recognize that one does not hold the monopoly of good ideas and that the traffic and flooding problems of metro cebu does not recognize any political or local government boundaries. meanign he has to work with his neighbors.

Thank you bai sa Info. I have high hopes for Mandaue than Cebu City, mas dapay plano ang Mandaue sa ilang traffic kaysa Cebu City. Ilang traffic Light way advance and naay bag Ong dalang gipang sugdan ug they have concrete plans for socialized midrise Housing than Cebu. If only Mandaue has a larger Land area I think it could catch up quickly with Cebu City

Neda-ICC gives nod to Metro Cebu intermodal transport system
July 27, 2018

"DOTr commits to the Neda-ICC to fast-track the implementation of the CBRT, and that it will immediately engage the services of the Technical Support Consultant, which will assist in resolving critical services of the corridor, and in preparing a comprehensive catch-up plan to achieve the project's Phase 1 interoperability by June 2021," the agency said. NO TO CON-ASS | Statement on Prospect for Constitutional Reforms

NO TO CON-ASS | Statement on Prospect for Constitutional Reforms
The present environment is not conducive to reforming the constitution. The most recent nationwide surveys of SWS and Pulse Asia last March 2018 show that only 25% of our citizens sufficiently understand our existing constitution, while only 37% support the shift to federalism. It also showed that 64% are against charter change. "Changing the Constitution" also ranked last in the "most urgent national concerns" with only 3% of the Filipinos saying that it should be acted upon immediately.

We do not support calls to channel this reform through a Constituent Assembly.
....Almost 80% of Congress is comprised of political dynasties, and the empirical evidence suggests that a majority of them may face a deep conflict of interest if a new constitution aims for reforms that level the political playing field. The risk of capture by vested interests affecting our present politics is too great.

We do not support calls to postpone or cancel elections in 2019.
....Finally, we believe that there are more pressing and immediate policy challenges that our leaders must address. The rising death toll linked to the anti-drugs campaign, which now includes many children and young people. The killings of political leaders and priests also further raise the spectre of injustice. Rising prices of basic commodities, transportation, and other needs are also hitting the poor, our workers, and millions of low-income households. If these are unresolved, then how can we credibly unite around “rule of law” and “human rights” under an amended constitution?

A constitution is supposed to bind our nation in common values and a shared vision. It is the very glue that should unite us all in common purpose. If we are to amend the constitution, we must invest not just in the outcome, but in the very process.

This is a broad discussion that must bring together our citizens from all walks of life, professions, and political leanings. It is a national discourse that must allay fears, clarify concerns, and bring us all towards common ground.

Ah yes, Fr. Miranda. He’s got quite the Napoleon complex. Incredibly rude and arrogant, only sycophants from the Main Campus love him. He is the embodiment of the hypocrisy of the SVDs running USC.
