The objective of this thread is to only carry projects in pipeline. Once an MOU is signed, we don't carry it here. Could you please remove it ?
I agree with the Volkswagen project but that kind of situation is rare. When an MOU is inked, we are posting news about the project execution in Chennai or TN project threads any way. I feel we can keep this thread clean and list only pre-MOU projects so that we can search for information easily. I can modify the thread description to reflect this if we agree.Hi Subra,
We have to define what we mean by 'project in pipeline', ideally in the first post, in order to avoid confusion.
Just by signing the MoU, the project is not considered executed. Take for example, the Volswagen project, where they initially signed MoU with AP and then moved to Pune. So, untill the (land is acquired, transferred) construction starts, I would consider the project to be in pipeline.
But, if we agree to list only projects in the pre-MoU stage, I am glad to remove my entry.

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Consumer durables major Videocon Industries today announced that it would set up a semiconductor fab to manufacture thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) in Maharashtra at an estimated project cost of Rs 8,000 crore in a tie-up with IBM.
The company has applied to the Central government for a subsidy of Rs 2,000 crore for the project under the recently announced Semi Conductor Policy, Videocon said in a statement.
“This project will generate employment to 10,000 people. Videocon established a full-fledged research and development laboratory in Japan exclusively to develop this product and is the first Indian company to have successfully developed it,” the company said. - PTI
The Videocon project in Maharastra is facing problems as the farmers in the villages surrounding Nave Mumbai are refusing to part with their lands for the project and it is also creating political problems within the ruling coalition. This fab unit from Videocon was more likely to go to Maharastra or AP.
