I have the following suggestions, which our forumers may decide collectively.
We will start a separate thread - CHENNAI TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT or similar.
Let us have a few forumers (Voulanteers) who will act like moderators and remove the unnecessary / unwanted details.
First we will list all the crucial junctions and number / name them. Each relevant suggestion should be quoted with the reference no / name.
We may start with city first and then go to the suburbs, unless they are very crucial and needy.
We will submit the final approved reports at a seminar / conference to be arranged by SSC Forum at Chennai.
I had a chance of discussing this margin issue with the officials. Their view is as follows. We may not agree with this but that is what they think.the idea of outer ring road is very good.it should be implemented as soon as possible.if govt. proposes airport near oragadam or sriperambandhur this ORR only make passengers to reach airport from different parts of city.
but taking 50 meters along this road is not a good idea.this will prevent commercial explotation along the road, and we cannot see large scale developement .And also this idea will make the public who own lands on proposed ORR restless and this will lead to delay in this road project.

opening a subsidiary in Chennai on the southeast coast of India. The grand office
opening will be celebrated on January 24, 2007 with invitees representing the
company, customers and cooperation partners. With a subsidiary in one of India's
largest commercial and industrial centers, Vacon will further improve its service
in the growing markets of the Asia-Pacific region
Has anybody found the reasons for the automobile manufacturers to shy away from chennai/TN? It is also observed that during the reign of the Jayalalita govt that the existing car manufacturers like the Ford, Hyundai and now the BMW have set up shops in TN.What is going wrong with the present Govt?^^
I guess Chennai's days as the Detroit of India are over with GM, VW, Dailmer Chrysler, Tata Fiat, Mico Bosh, Force - Man and the M & M HV plants all going to MH.
