How many different ways is Chicago used as an adjective and not a noun? I'm talking about terms recongnized nationally that honor Chicago's unique style.

I'm talking about, for example...

Chicago style hot dogs
Chicago deep dish pizza
Chicago row houses
Chicago school of architecture
Chicago blues

are there others?

none of these would be recognized nationally by joe six-pack, but within their specific areas of expertise, these terms might also be added:

- chicago window

- chicago bungalow

- chicago school of economics

- chicago school of sociology

You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, they pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way!

That was the first thing I thought of upon reading the topic, lol.

There's a Chicago style of House music, apparently. I found it randomly while looking for some Paul Oakenfold once.

^^ accualy hes right , House music is a chicago invention
This is true. Being a teenager in Chicago during the late 80's, I grew up listening to WBMX (and later, late night B96 mixers) and the "Fabulous Five". Techno/Acid/Hip/Freesyle House all had their roots here in the Windy City. Does anyone remember the Wharehouse Club?

Yeah - when I found out about the whole House thing, I did a little background on Wikipedia. Pretty interesting stuff, although I could never find an exact site for The Warehouse. It's probably a West Loop loft now, lol.

I thought you were kidding when you said "apparently"

How can someone posting from Chicago about Chicago on a Chicago forum.....be surprised that Chicago "apparently" has a "style of House Music"???

That's like saying Jamaica has "a style of reggae"

House music is from Chicago, the rest is mere commentary.

I did a search on wikipedia recently, and apparently there's a "Chicago Style" of skyscrapers.......I fpund it randomly while looking for some BauHaus once.

Chicago format of research papers, as opposed to MLA for example.
