We did a 2 week trip to Chile in winter of 2020.
We visited the capital city, Santiago, Valparaíso, The Easter Island and Patagonia: Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine National Park.

Luckily the situation in the country was stable.
No massive protests or violence anymore.
We felt safe all the time, didn't feel any danger walking through the cities, even at night.
The cities were full of scars from the protests, most shops were barricaded, political graffiti was everywhere.
Food is not very interesting, mostly burgers, empanadas, other meat dishes.
People don't speak much English, so some Spanish knowledge is very handy.
They were also not really interested in spontaneous chats, like asking where we are from and so on. They came as pretty cold being Latinos.

Fell free to ask questions about anything :)

Ok let's start!

I will post some pictures from our flight.
We flew with Level, which is a low cost airline, from Barcelona to Santiago de Chile.
It's a 14h flight, our longest thus far. The 2-4-2 configuration of the A330 was really cool, making the journey easier. Being a low cost flight, besides some water, nothing is for free, no food, no soft drinks or alcohol, not even blankets or pillows.

Other than that, it was a flight, it brought us where we wanted, and that was what mattered most. We arrived around 7pm local time, didn't sleep at all, so didn't have much problems with jet lag. There was a 4h time difference to C.E.T. time.

Santiago de Chile

We stayed in an Airbnb on the 19th floor, with some pretty nice views.
Here are some shots from the balcony.

Our first day in Santiago was a Sunday.
The city was incredibly deserted, compared to next day when the streets were packed.
Tourists in Santiago are a rarity, you can see a few at some hotspots, but other than that, not one single one...
