During WWII, Chongqing was the wartime capital of China.
Chinese center government stayed here for about 8 years at that time.
Now, it is still the biggest city in West China.

the Monument of WW II Victory.
It was set up in 1945 when China won the WW II .

At that time, the monument was the tallest building in Chongqing city.

But now, you see.......

I can only see three of the pics, but it doesn't matter. Awesome pictures of a complete, dense, happening skyline.

One question though...How is that water so dirty?

awesome pics

is Chonquing affected by the rising water as a result of the 3-G-Dam?

Or is it so far upstream, that no effect is visible

Good shots. The very impresseive skyline & the rivers on both sides make CQ almost look an updated Manhattan.
CQ is one of the biggest defence industrial complexes in China.

it can produced almost every weapons, from aircraft, missile,to subs.
IF WW III were to broke out, I am sure that CQ would still be Chinese wartime capital.

I think the yellow colour of the river comes from sand and soil, not the typical type of dirt we normally would think of.
