For those of you who remember, I have already posted many pictures of the Christmas season lights at the end of the thread dedicated to my town. Having bought a new phone in 2016 with a better camera than the one I had, and seeing the lights this year were even more impressive than usual, I decided to open a new thread specifically for them, starting with the smaller scale lights and decorations in various neighborhoods, and gradually moving on to the more impressive ones on the town's main landmarks. The numbered spots on the following map depict where every series of pictures was taken, and the corresponding numbers will be mentioned in red throughout the thread:

The first structure to be put up this year was a Christmas tree made of beer bottles of an aggressively advertised brand, on the Central Boulevard:

Its appearance during the day may be a bit unassuming, but when lit at night the vibrant green color gives it that extra something it needs:

This religiousness also means that nativity scenes are set on almost every neighborhood square, together with other decorations. The one below is on the square right between the Haoush ez Zaraane and Midane neighborhoods:

while just below it, this large stone wall has been decorated with vibrant colorful lights:

Heading towards Muallaqa neighborhood, one can catch a glimpse of the dense lights on the Manara roundabout and the Central Boulevard (which we will get back to later on) reflecting in the Berdawni river:

Further up, the esplanade in front of St Joseph Sakhra church offers a nice view of the town's lights, with the tower of Our Lady of Beqaa visible on the left:

A flight of steps takes us down to the Central Boulevard, on which we head upstream to those parts of the town closer to the mountain. We pass next to Centre Wardeh, one of Zahle's largest office building complexes, whose esplanade is lit in a seasonal vibrant green:

Further up, next to the courthouse, is another well lit, albeit much smaller, office building:

Next to it, the little choo choo train operated every year during the holiday season by Dar es Sadaqa (a local association) stops to take passengers:

taking them on a ride along the Central Boulevard and the decorated town's main entrance road:

We pass the Beqaa Chamber of Commerce:

and climb up the narrower streets of the Old Town, where these trees on a building's terrace stand out in the dark:

How beautiful your town is all lit to the holidays, I'm impressed!

I've looked at your photos for the second time now, they are fantastic! Thank you for this wonderful Christmas photo set, I'm looking forward for more! :eek:kay:

P.S. I liked that tiny picture of a cat holding a glass on your new Flickr account. What does he drink? :)
