Don't know B4mmy. Might be worth looking at the MCC planning site.b4mmy said:There's a fair bit of this skybox stuff knocking around in proposals at the minute. I like em personally but I'm not a huge fan of this scheme, those renders make it look poorly considered, and insensitive. Has it got through planning like this?
I'm not sure that I follow your insensitive line, P4mmy. I think the preservation of the nice sandstone building ensures that it's in keeping with the Co-op buildings and Vic Station, The lower glass bit ties in nicely with the Urbis and looks suitably modern and the top bit is quite radical and unique for Manchester and this area from what i've seen- so much so that I don't feel that it clashes with existing buildings and looks good enough not to degrade it's surroundings......imHo of courseb4mmy said:There's a fair bit of this skybox stuff knocking around in proposals at the minute. Got to agree with you GShutty. It certainly ties in with the surrounding buildings. Hopefully the redevelopment of Victoria Station will be just as daring?GShutty said:I'm not sure that I follow your insensitive line, P4mmy. Well I'm prepared to put my reputation on the line, so I've just written to Maghull to see if I can talk em into something a bit better. Chances are these images were done in a hurry to get the application extended beyond April 2006 anyway.GShutty said:I'm not sure that I follow your insensitive line, P4mmy. JRB I reckon with the NQ, GQ and now Red Bank on one side and the ASK/Greengate proposal on the other that Vic Station's redevelopment is inevitable and if they're going to do it, I think there's a desire at MCC to see it done properly.B4mmy said:Well I'm prepared to put my reputation on the line, so I've just written to Maghull to see if I can talk em into something a bit better. Its this particular image that offends me the most: the one on the leftGShutty said:B4mmy, what are your particular objections and what would you propose?
