nice discussions here, I'm from the Philippines and I love drinking coffee, but I prefer our own strong native coffee as compared to the expensive Starbucks and other imports.....:)

I think Starbucks are better, but don't know why, the coffee standards isn't very consistence from store to store. Star Bucks has closed lots of store in Australia (possibly worldwide) last year.
I rememeber that, Starbucks is probably too ''cheap'' for Aussie

Too cheap ? How much does it cost ?
In Europe, it is about 5+ euros for one frappucino - the middle size.
In Sydney, a latte or cap cost about $3.50 - $4.50 standard size about 370ml, I think. Never drank frapucino, so don't know how much it cost.

The store they closed in Wynyard is pack with people each morning, the store they did not close next to the cinemas, has seats, but doesn't looks busy.

I agree, the coffee culture in Australia probably expect something better, and there are so many coffee store in the CBD, those that are real coffee drinker may expect something more, but for the daily morning boost, Star Bucks are just fine.
