Thank you, CrazY!

They've made incredible progress for a project they just started this year. Those all-day/all-night shifts are really paying off.

We've got months until the planned October 2015 opening! Can't wait, hope it doesn't run into any snags.

What's weird about this project is those narrow spaces on the sides. I hope it's not going to be distressing to not be able to take in the view of that big fossil from a distance. Awesome project though.

Sorry if I have been a little negative but I'm new here and these are the observations I've been gathering.

Passed by yesterday, it's turning out to be so beautiful, it's nice that this level is being achieved without the usual seeking of international firms like NBBJ or Skidmore even if the designers are still all foreign and Kuwaiti and Arab architects are useless when it comes to important projects.

The complex of museums designed by SSH, overlooking the Persian Gulf will set new records within the museum sector; the challenging project consists of the simultaneous design and build of four innovative new museums; Natural History Museum, Science Centre, Space Museum and Islamic Museum, which will include 20 dynamic galleries.

Cultural Innovations, responsible for the exhibition design have introduced key features including a one million litre aquarium, set within a rainforest and mangrove swamp, a dark ride motion base “virus attack”, a planetarium, an interactive space station, and over 800 exhibits and interactives. The project will also feature more than 1,000 models, props and collections, supervised by SSH and lead museum consultant Keith Gray.
A project of this magnitude and complexity has never been attempted simultaneously and is currently the largest cultural and science project in the world.

The team will be engaging a vast number of the UK’s, European and US specialist market to successfully complete this mammoth project across many disciplines including;

Audio Visual
Scenic Artists
Mechanical Interactives
Object Mounts
Glass and Aquariums
Graphics
Model Making & Sculptors
Display Cases
Architectural Metalwork
Water Play Exhibits
BECK will also be employing additional project and package managers to cover specialist elements such as audio visual, interactives, aquariums, and models, coordination and fabrication drawings and logistics.

For further information regarding opportunities to be part of this unique project, please email Esme Edney, Project Administrator: with the subject SAASCC- opportunities.
