Developer’s towering aspirations
The Aust Oct 10

LEND Lease has submitted plans to build a landmark office tower in Sydney’s harbourside Circular Quay...

...It is understood that the group will need the council to amend the planing controls on the site in order for its landmark development to be approved...

...the developer has already called in agency JLL to find a capital partner for the project and tenants to occupy the tower...

Lend Lease has submitted its plans alone despite at one stage considering jointly submitting plans with AXF.

Doesn't AXF own the buildings on the north east corner of the area Cul has outlined?
So does LL's proposal include that site or not?

So they could be going for a tower that rises straight behind Goldfields House/1 Alfred Street if they have an envelope like that to play with. If I recall from the concept plan for that block, a public plaza would run through the middle of that site?

The Australian: "Lend Lease has submitted its plans alone despite at one stage considering jointly submitting plans with AXF."

This would indicate that 19-31* Pitt Street is not included as AXF owns the site which is why AXF is keen to add Goldfields Hse to its site.

A joint AFX-LL venture would serve the city best but that's not what drives developers.

Perhaps LL is testing the waters and AFX is waiting to see? [ever hopeful]

Correct. CULWULLA's diagram has grouped the AXF and Lend Lease sites together.

AXF owns 19-31 Pitt Street and the Rugby Club.

Lend Lease owns 182 George Street, Jacksons on George and 33-35 Pitt Street. This means the thread title is incorrect. I'd suggest 182 George Street is the correct address as George Street will become an increasingly desirable address with light rail, and I think landlords will try to cash in on this.

Google will not move to Parramatta.

Australian Technology Park, Barangaroo, Bays Precinct, The Ribbon. These are the four shortlisted locations for Google (according to media sources). I don't see the need to cast the net any further.

Miracolo!
Now we have to wait to see if this is to be one major thread [LL & AFX combined project] or two separate projects.
We need another Miracolo! to make it one biggie for Sydney.
