I guess I'll assume these are your own photos, as that is the only reference you have given us. I will move this thread to Urban Showcase for original photography. If they are not your photos
1) properly credit them and
2) pm me to move the thread back
thank you.
Reminds me of Toronto.
love atlanta, except for traffic, besides that its a great city to live.
love it
This is a bad ass city, but not walkable enough.
Not one of my favourite cities, but those are interesting pictures.

This picture is absolutely mindblowing:

Ive been to downtown atlanta before, but i was left wondering what the hype is about. What makes Atlanta Special?

The same things that make any city special...great neighborhoods, people, shopping, cultural institutions, history and preservation, architecture, entertainment options, restaurants, sporting events, festivals, parks and recreation, educational institutions...etc.

What sets a city apart are the unique or special variations of each of these categories. You wouldn't know what makes a city special unless you lived there or had been there enough to become familiar with it.

When I go to an unfamiliar city, I look into the things that interest me to find out what special things that city has to offer.

yea, i know i was only there for 3 days. do you have any photos of special neighborhoods? To me that's what makes a city really great, unique and attractive neighborhoods
yup! it is cool ;)

I'm not sure you can really get the great qualities of a neighborhood through photos. Some of Atlanta's great neighborhoods IMO are Inman Park, Virginia-Highland, East Atlanta, Little Five Points, Glenwood Park, Grant Park, Kirkwood, Cabbagetown, Fairlie-Poplar, Castleberry Hill, Historic Midtown (the neighborhood), Morningside, Lenox Park, Ansley Park, Piedmont Heights, West End, Ormewood Park, Decatur, Druid Hills, Emory Village, Home Park, Peachtree Hills, Old Fourth Ward, Candler Park, Reynoldstown, East Lake, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Adair Park, Cascade Heights...there are many great neighborhoods, some historic and some not. Most of these neighborhoods have easy MARTA access, and many have a station named for the neighborhoods.

I'll post a few photos, but it's hard to see the beauty of a neighborhood just by seeing a house or street.

Ok, I left out a lot of great ones, but I'm tired of posting pictures. :)
Its too bad the city is overshadowed by massive suburban sprawl that covers over 8,000 square miles.

I believe that every city has sprawl...anyway, that's not the city - that's the suburbs.
WeimieLvr, what a great rundown of some ATL neighborhoods. Thanks!
Thanks for the neighborhood pics! I've been to Atlanta once for work and I was caught off guard by what a great time I had!
cool neighborhoods!! I love The Neighborhoods around midtown, Atlanta's historic center, Castleberry Hill, Ashley Hill, and Cabbagetown! Beautiful! I got new respect for the ATL
Don't forget the Coca Cola Center and Underground Atlanta. I loved those places
