Copacabana + Ipanema = Copanema

1) three new museums each with a spectacular view of a beach (Copanema, Arpoador and Ipanema)
to celebrate the city of Rio de Janeiro in the new millennium.

The project of the new museums could be given to Oscar Niemeyer or other Brazilian architects.

2) a new park : Parque do Arpoador, replacing part of the military area (i.e. the military buildings with no historical value, leaving just the Forte de Copacabana)

3) a new "calçadao" (sidewalk), with a new pattern of "pedra portuguesa", thus linking the Ipanema and Copacabana sidewalks, making it possible to walk from Leme to Leblon via Arpoador without ever leaving the beach: a national competition for art students could be launched to design the pattern of the new "calçadao".

The museum might contain the world's largest scale model ("maquete") of Rio de Janeiro to show the unrivalled scenerary of the world's most beautiful city.

This proposal should become a serious one. A connection between the Ipanema and Copacabana sidewalks would make it possible to walk from Leme all the way to Leblon via Arpoador without ever leaving the beach. But I think the Ipanema/Leblon sidewalk is too narrow. If the City Council saw a design like that, it should seek approval ASAP.

Esta proposta deve tornar-se um sério. Uma conexão entre o Ipanema e calçadas de Copacabana o faria possível andar de Leme completamente a Leblon via Arpoador sem já deixando a praia. Mas eu penso que a calçada de Ipanema/Leblon é demais estreita. Se o Conselho de Cidade viu um projeto como isso, deve procurar aprovação O MAIS RÁPIDO POSSÍVEL.

Já tem o parque garota de Ipanema ali do lado que sempre foi bem abandonadinho e perigoso, não há o menor sentido em fazer outro parque ali sem antes o poder público se responsabilizar mais pelo parque que já existe e cuidar decentemente dele. Quanto ao calçadão, ótima idéia.
