Copenhagen in the sunny spring

Hey guys!

So well, yeah, I went to Copenhagen 2 weeks ago and now I'm finally posting my pics from the city. The city seemed very pleasant and the spring was everywhere, which made it more beautiful. We basically visited the whole city center and we pretty much stuck to it. I liked the quality of buildings and there are some really massive constructions in the city center, some nice castles and all. BTW the area I liked the most was that park around Rosenborg Castle. Lots of lawn and the buildings around it create a good athmosphere. The only con about the city I can say is that I really found it a bit dirty, and I didn't expect that, but overall it's okay.

Oh, the subway stations are ultra modern, but why did they do them so "standardized"? They're really beautiful, but sometimes it even gets confusing! :D

The Tivoli Gardens is an AMAZING place, I really liked it, although I just walked around and rid the roller coaster (had no guts to go in that bloody scary elevator :D).

Anyway, let's take a look at the pics:

Great pictures. Glad you had a good time.

I agree that parts of the city look a bit dirty (though it's hard to see in your pictures). Many Copenhageners are pigs, can't even be bothered to walk 10 m. to the nearest trash bin. :eek:hno:
Great compilation there, schmidt! :eek:kay:
Great pics mate - reminds me of home :D

No seriously nice work - it looks like you got around to see most of what the inner city offers and I see a bit of Nørrebro too :)

About the dirtyness if you don't mind me asking, was that related to the weekends ( saturday/sunday morning ) or just in general ( graffiti and such )..

Nice pics Schmidt, glad you liked it - and I agree with you that the city is very dirty. It's a shame that so many copenhageners are pigs as DD already said.

Hahah jeez, sorry, cuz I just copied and pasted the thread from the Brazilian section and forgot to translate/delete some titles... that says "again the town hall square, but with the backs to the old town (tivoli would be on the left side of the black building)", nothing important for you guys :D

Well, the first impression (yeah it really stays) we had was in the city hall square and it was a bit dirty (and some bastard threw something on me!!! hahah), but nah, out of that region it was cleaner. However, we went out at night and some places like close to clubs or in a McDonald's it was hell dirty, I even took a pic!

Copenhagen dirty????? You should visit Oslo next time, we are the Naples of the north

BTW, great pictures!
excellent, so how does it compare with Helsinki and Tallinn (heh).

LOL, good one. :eek:kay:

And nice set of photos not to forget :)

Oh, Copenhagen is very different from both, but I think Helsinki is more 'comparable'. (Tallinn we could compare with Prague though! :D)

To be really honest I like Helsinki a bit more, it looks a bit classier, but Copenhagen seemed to me a bit more er... "livable", what I liked in Copenhagen is that they seem to like those open air activities and boat culture, which I also like, Helsinki felt more urban, which I like too :D. But hey, I saw 2 different cities in 2 very different situations: one was covered in snow and the other was blooming in spring. I don't know...

Some neat snappies there - conveys well what central CPH is about: charming early 20th century housing, great urban vibe and a lot of bicycles.

Would have been refreshing to see a few more Nörrebro/Vesterbro/Österbro (whatever not-that-touristy) shots though. Good job nonetheless.

During (exceptionally cold) Easter holidays HKI sure was half-empty as almost all shops and activities were closed. It's true that Copenhagen is a bit more liveable due to denser city structure, but during warm season the difference is not notable.

Anyway, interesting to hear impressiens from an outsider as we locals tend to be more or less biased in these issues. At least here in SSC. :)

It seems like he didn't really get outside the old city and not even to Chirstianshavn. :eek:hno:

^^ Well yeah, if some of our fellow Danish forumers had offered themselves to guide a poor lost Brazilian in the middle of the viking mass... :D
Oh sorry, I'm Brazilian and we're used that people offer themselves for such things hahahaha. :D
Everything is clean, cut and perfect.Just the way I like it!
