Corfu city is declared in 2007 as Unesco World Heritage

The Property includes: a) The fortifications, essentially presented by the old and the New Fortress. Both constitute important monuments of military architecture which were performed by several well-known architects and engineers from Venice and one of the most perfect defence complexes, b) the old town of Corfou is unique cultural entity, of a high aesthetical value

Megayacht Ilona just spotted in Corfu

nice mahogany boat

There is a helicopter hidden under the main deck. It has 65 underwater lights for the ultimate nighttime effect. Rumours say the yacht belongs to an Australian tycoon. It is one of the 40 largest yachts in the world.
It looks very interesting to explore these cities.

Beauty, Power and Tragedy: The Achilleion

Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, also known as Sissi, was a woman obsessed with beauty and very powerful but tragically vulnerable since the loss of her only son, Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria in the Mayerling affair in 1889. A year later in 1890 she built a summer palace in the region of Gastouri to the south of the city, with the powerful mythical hero Achilles as its central theme.

Achilles was considered the most handsome of the heroes assembled at Troy, but he was tragically vulnerable at his heel.
