He's being introduced as the current Robin's half-brother. It's fairly well-known in the industry that Jonas Armstrong intends to quit the series at the end of this season, and bringing in a relation as a replacement certainly has past form (cf Robin of Sherwood).

Of course, that would mean two of the main protagonists of Nottingham's favourite legend would now be played by Chisits :lol:

so its been 8 long years since robin hood was contreversially outed as being from swannington

have we yet seen the proof? or is this like the legendary man himself - complete fiction?

Roger Godberd was definitely from Swannington.

He is the actual "Robin Hood", but there will be denials. We just let them claim him because he hid in Sherwood for a bit and had some run-ins with their Sheriff.

cool - does godberd maen good-beard? cos the srobin tautue outside notts castle dont have have a beard on his face, he looks more like a woman. holy shit, was robin a woman?

No, I said he was left-handed.

The early tales of Robin Hood are based on a combination of the exploits of Roger Godberd (the original source of the tales) from Leicestershire and Robert Hode (a later criminal) from Wakefield.

Combine them together and you get the real-life sources of "A Gest of Robyn Hod".

wow, u no a lot about robin hood. did he waer tites? cos id have thoufgrt tites wud be hard to make in his day - unless they made them from lace, he cud have got them from the lace market on his way to notts castle
